Our FaceBook blog is (What’s up in Canaan Valley) that we will be posting to on a very regular basis. This blog will be providing information in a timely manner about what is going on in Canaan Valley and the Mountain Top area.
This is a blog to inform people about what is happening in Canaan Valley, Thomas and Davis WV predominately during the winter and focusing mainly on the areas two downhill ski resorts Timberline Mountain (which is privately owned) and Canaan Valley Ski Area (which is owned by the State of West Virginia). There is also a Cross Country Ski Area called White Grass that is quite popular. We also try to address any weather related issues that people might encounter in their travels in and to the area. The weather in the Valley can be quite unique to the area and it is wise to be prepared for it. We encourage any questions and comments and we will try to answer all questions as quickly as possible.
Who We Are
Pam Harrah grew up in Davis WV and started skiing at Cabin Mountain Ski Area in the Valley in 1956. She was on the ski patrol at Canaan for over a decade.
Will Harrah began skiing in 1985 at the age of 5 in the Valley. He has worked as a photojournalist and a videographer for over 25 years.
Ed Harrah began skiing in 1963 and in the Valley since 1968. He began filming skiing in 1968. Ed was the first ski patroller at Canaan when it opened in the winter of 1971/1972. He has been involved in photography and videography professionally since 1984.
